Loved the hand-painted designs on this bike parked outside Columbia City Bakery in south Seattle on Tuesday.
In my experience, it’s relatively rare to see something like this. It’s odd that we’re more likely to get tattooed than make art out of a bike or car. (Note: I have exactly zero data to back up the preceding assertion.)
I’m curious about who owns the bike and who painted it. The woman working the bakery counter wasn’t sure. She said she thinks it belongs to a baker. But she added that the bakers are “elusive” — an excellent word under any circumstances, and an especially intriguing word to use in this case. The thought of an elusive baker just made the bike that much more interesting.
Columbia City Bakery is here. Some info and reviews are here.
When you’re in my part of Seattle and you want baked deliciousness, you need to hit Cafe Besalu and its next-door neighbor, Tall Grass Bakery.
